Policy

The short version: SeaWav is a library of publicly available, openly licensed sounds. Each sample keeps its original license — check it on the sample's card.

License

SeaWav doesn't create or own these sounds — we collect, organize and map samples that are already publicly available under open licenses. We only include licenses that allow free use and redistribution: CC0 (use freely, no credit needed), CC BY (credit the original creator), and CC BY-SA (credit, and share derivatives under the same terms). Every sample shows its license on its detail card — that license, not SeaWav, is what governs how you can use the sound.

Contributions

You can submit your own original work or sounds sourced from elsewhere — as long as they're under an open license we accept (CC0, CC BY or CC BY-SA) and you tell us where sourced sounds came from. We review every submission before it goes live.

Takedowns

If you believe a sample infringes your rights, report it — from the sample's detail card on the map or via the report page — and we'll review and remove confirmed violations promptly.

SeaWav is a desktop experience — the sample map needs a big screen and a mouse to explore. Open this page on your computer and dig in.
